Malted barley is sprouted for maximum enzyme preservation in brewing operations. You can grind, top-dress your pots and water in for a massive enzyme boost to really get things going. Sprouted seeds contain chitin which is broken down by bacteria to create the enzyme chintinase which degrades pest eggs and prevents gnat and other larvae from maturing.
Grind roughly 1/4 cup of malted barley and scratch lightly through mulch in top of soil. Water in with 2.5ml – 5ml/L Fast Fulvic, 5ml/L Aloe-Tech.
